About
Mai Nguyen Van is a London-based composer, producer, orchestrator, and pianist whose work spans film, television, and games. Drawing on a background in both classical performance and screen composition, she creates music that blends orchestral writing with production-based scoring. She was part of the composers’ team at Primerchord Music, contributing to a range of international TV projects.
Her credits include the student BAFTA-longlisted film Radioactive Rhinos and a 1.4 Award–longlisted film for London Fashion Week 2026. Her music has been recorded at AIR Studios in London with musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and she recorded her debut album, Peace of Nature, at Rolling Stock Recording Rooms in Melbourne with musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Her orchestration work includes the European tour of Maryna Krut and the Lumos Orchestra. As a pianist, she has collaborated with performers from The Juilliard School, including Andrew Munn, appearing on tour dates in Warsaw.
Mai is currently completing an MFA in Composing for Film and Television at the National Film and Television School.
